The only TRUE way to create vibrato is to change the tone above AND below the normal pitch. This tailpiece is die-cast & then polished in a striking chrome finish. Suits flat top electrics like the Gibson SG, Telecasters etc that have a stud mounted Tune-O-Matic style bridge. These units have the roller retaining bar to give you the angle over the bridge that is needed.
